Although the main psychoactive substance in cannabis is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the plant contains a total of
about 60 cannabinoids (among them: cannabinol, cannabigerol, cannabichromene, cannabiciclol), which comes in many
varieties, the most active delta- 9-THC. It's used in its natural form for the treatment of glaucoma, asthma, cancer,
migraine, insomnia, nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy, multiple sclerosis, peripheral
neuropathies nuisance and other neuromuscular diseases. The delta-9-THC is also manufactured synthetically as a
drug called Dronabinol. Other major cannabinols are the CBD or cannabidiol (narcotic) and the CBN. The percentages
of these three cannabinols influence the way in which each plant affects the human brain.
